NJREC supplies rectangular wound CRGO cores for power and distribution transformers. Made from layers of grain-oriented electrical steel, the core provides a magnetic path between the transformer windings. Its rectangular window accommodates the winding assembly, while the steel strip width and core build are selected for the required magnetic cross-section. These cores are used in transformers that step voltage up for transmission or down for distribution to end users.
Core dimensions and construction are checked against the latest transformer drawing, including the limb and yoke sections, window size, core build and winding installation sequence. Depending on the agreed order scope, NJREC can coordinate the supply of cut laminations, pre-stacked packets or assembled cores. Joint details, accessories and the required assembly condition are confirmed before production.
CRGO Grade | Reference Designation | Nominal Steel Thickness |
|---|---|---|
23Z LASER | M075-23P | 0.23 mm |
23Z | M085-23P | 0.23 mm |
30M1H | M105-30P | 0.30 mm |
27M4 | M120-27N | 0.27 mm |
30M5 | M097-30N | 0.30 mm |
Steel thickness is a material dimension, not the finished core's stack thickness. The required core dimensions and tolerances are set by the drawing. If a magnetic performance limit is specified, include the frequency and flux density with the required unit: W/kg for specific material loss, W for total finished-core loss and VA or VA/kg for excitation, as applicable.
Drawing-based coordination: Core dimensions, construction and supply condition are reviewed against the customer's drawing rather than selected by steel grade alone.
Flexible supply scope: Cut laminations, pre-stacked packets and assembled cores can be discussed according to the manufacturer’s assembly process.
Clear performance requirements: The order can define test frequency, magnetic flux density and whether a loss limit applies to the steel material or the assembled core.
Project-specific confirmation: NJREC coordinates the agreed specifications with its supplier and confirms available options for each order.

These rectangular transformer cores are built from layers of wound electrical steel strip, with window proportions and core sizes tailored to different transformer designs. The window dimensions are specified to accommodate the winding arrangement, while strip width and core build are selected to meet the required magnetic cross-section. Each order is produced and checked against the customer’s drawing.

The transformer cores are wrapped and secured inside reinforced wooden cases with timber crossbars and straps to limit movement during handling and transport. The cases have reinforced panel frames, metal corner brackets and pallet-style bases for forklift handling. Internal supports and wrapping are arranged according to each core’s dimensions, weight and assembly condition. Any additional moisture or edge protection can be confirmed before packing.

It is the magnetic circuit of a transformer built from cold-rolled grain-oriented electrical steel laminations. The core shape and joint arrangement are defined by the transformer design.
Its grain orientation provides magnetic properties suited to flux travelling along the rolling direction. Thin, insulated laminations help limit eddy currents; the resulting core loss also depends on grade, joint design and assembly.
Specify whether your plant requires cut laminations, pre-stacked packets or an assembled core. The exact construction and availability are confirmed against the approved drawing and order quantity.
Provide the current core drawing, required steel grade and thickness, window and limb dimensions, stack thickness, joint arrangement, supply condition and quantity. State any finished-core loss or excitation limits together with the test frequency and flux density.
Windings are outside the core supply scope. Clamps, lifting parts and other accessories are included only when listed in the agreed quotation and drawing.
Wrapping, internal supports and wooden cases are selected according to the core's dimensions, weight and assembly state. The packing and container-loading arrangements are confirmed for each shipment.
